Samsung tv and pace
I bought a pace box (the small semi-circular one) for my parents to connect to their relatively new Samsung tv (don`t have the model no. to hand but it has 2xscart 1of them rgb). But however we connected it (directly to tv or thru vhs) we couldn`t get both analogue and digital, the digital reception was very good, but my dad still wants the analogue channels for teletext. We phoned pace and they said that not all tv`s were compatible. We phoned the tv retailer and he said that there should be no problem with the tv, but that these particular pace boxes were so unreliable that he`d stopped selling them.I returned the pace box for a refund,
My parents are still chunnering about having digital, would I stand more chance with one of the old itv digi-boxes, say a philips or a grundig?I`ve got to buy it and do a 200mile round trip to fit it, so I would like it to work this time!
Hi
The pace box can now do Teletext via a new download off one of the BBc channels. As for the problems you had
1/ Did you try both scarts? only one will have the RGB
2/ Was the box set for RGB ?
bye
R.B
The teletext also has picture in picture when looking at text on some of the channels.
the Nokia DVB Boxes seem a good buy, £79.99, Dixons, Currys
RE: Samsung tv and pace
hi, yes I tried both scarts, and every combination of connections. My Dad wants the teletext on the analogue channels as normal(yes I know! but he`s set in his ways, and it should be possible) Has anyone tried the Nokia box ?
