Do i connect dvd through video or straight to telly?
I have a vcr friendly dvd player the thing is if i back up a dvd i have to pull out player, take out scart, etc, etc.I take it after a while this wont be doing my scart port much good.will i lose much quality playing it always through my video?
RE: Do i connect dvd through video or straight to telly?
I assume by "vcr friendly" you mean that the macrovision is turned off in the DVD player itself. If so, then there "should" be no problem sending out the video signal to the VCR for viewing.
I say "should" be, however, as bear in mind that not all DVD players that are "vcr friendly" will produce the same quality picture via the VCR. Different hardware workarounds to macro-vision mean different picture results.
Best to avoid routing the DVD video signal through the VCR and connect the system via a switchable SCART socket, etc.
Hope this helps

I dont think most VCR`s with though-put RGB or S-video with the scart so you will not get the best quality.
I`m to stingy to buy a scart box so I send the scart to the VCR and have the s-video from the DVD player connected to the front S-video on my TV.

Simple answer - do what works for you. If you can`t see any noticable difference in quality between the two setups then choose which ever is most practical for you.
I have DVD -> VIDEO -> TV as the UHF output from the VIDEO goes to an amp that feeds the rest of the house. That way we can watch DVDs/Videos in other rooms.
