PAL and NTSC

Hi,

I have a multi-region CYBERHOME ADL 528 which can handle PAL and NTSCV. It is plugged in to a TV which only has PAL capability. As a result, is it possible for me to view NTSC R1 movies without any loss of quality?

Thanks,
SJ

No, sadly you WILL lose picture quality on NTSC discs, the reason being that even if your DVD player can output NTSC signal your TV wont be able to read them so you would get a BLACK & WHITE picture, HOWEVER, on the SET UP menu of your DVD player you will hae 3 VIDEO setting PAL NTSC & AUTO, with AUTO being the default. Change this setting to PAL & you will get a clour picture on NTSC discs but not as good as a direct NTSC signal.

Hope this helps

Thanks,

I have heard selecting the `RGB` option will output good quality. Is this true?

RGB is the BEST way to connect DVD to TV via Scart lead giving the best possible picture
