Out of the box solution for £300

flyingmonkey (Elite) posted this on Monday, 23rd September 2002, 13:33

My brother wants to get a surround sound system for his bedroom. Space and money limitations mean that he is looking for a complete "out of the box" DVD and Dolby Digital 5.1 set up.

I know seperates are better but for him a cheap system will do. It needs to be multi-region and DD 5.1 for under £300. I am a seperates man myself and don`t really know much about the budget stuff. I suggested the LG DA-3520.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

Nick

Cyberhome DVD player (with built-in DD decorder) for £100 from Richer Sounds. (VCDHelp has lots of reviews + dedicated Website by some German dood in English)!

Argos does these VideoLogic Speakers and Subwoofer for around £70 pounds. Very highly recommended.

I have both; No complains, but can`t remember the last time I played anything on them! Still good though (as far as I can remember).

Hope it helps.

I can highly recommend the Aiwa HT-DV90 - I bought one a few weeks a go and it`s fantastic!! I don`t know about the LG 3520 - I stayed away from it because of all the complaints about the backgroud "hissing" problem!
