Page 1 of cheapy dvd player wanted advice req !

hi i friend is after a dvd player for the kid for crimbo she has argos/index vouchers she wants something that can play svcd vcd cdr and be multiregion any answers. i know where she can get 1 but not in these stores she has vouchers for !

The Akai DV-P3140 is quite good player and is in the Argos catalogue - £99. It can be made multi-region via a simple remote hack (which can be found in the remote hack forum). It can play CDR - not sure about VCD/SVCD though.

argos are selling the alba 108 for £69.99, plays svcd,vcds,mp3s and multi region by using hack from this forum.

and for 70 squid the alba has very good picture and sound (lacks a bit of bass, np just turn up ur bass :-) )
