Problem with sound (volume level) on SM Supervision 2500

RobertM (Harmless) posted this on Monday, 20th January 2003, 09:53

Hi

I have problems with the sound out put from my DVD - player - SM Supervision 2500.
On some DVDs the sound is very low and in the background - even at full volumne.
I am running the DVD player through my video player as my television only has one scart input. The television is mono.
I have tried using both a scart lead and the audio/video lead (with the red cable not connected) plugged directly into the television, with no improvement.
I have also tried changing the region setting on the DVD player from 'multi-region' to the specific region, again with no improvement.
Any advice on this problem much appreciated.

Just a guess but try going into the DVD system set up menu and select
Audio 1 / Audio 2 . If memory serves me well you may be able to f[at]ynn about with the sound output and hopefully that might help.

HTH :-)
Just a thought, have you got the output set to 5.1 / DTS. If you have set it to this and do not have an amplifier etc, then try setting the sound to 2 channel rather than 6. I have experienced this (Low volume) when I forgot to set it to Dolby Stereo rather than DTS / 5.1 (Tosh SD2109E/SD220E)
