Toshiba SD220E Multi-region Player Help???

Vittellus (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Wednesday, 22nd January 2003, 22:39

Hi There

Please can anyone out there help me as my old DVD player is now starting to play up and I`m wanting to buy a new system very soon.

I quite like the reviews given to the Toshiba SD220 multi-region player but would like to know how many scart inputs it has at the back of the system.

My old Grundig 210E player has 2 scarts and this was ideal for me as I could connect my video to the DVD player and then connect the DVD to the TV. My TV has only 2 scarts at the back and one is already taken up with the PS2. I`ve tried using a 4 in 1 scart output connector device but didn`t find the audio and picture quality to be quite the same as singularly using each scart inputting to the TV.

Please can anyone recommend a quality DVD player that is already or can be remotely hacked to multi-region with two rear scarts and a price between £120 - £130, as I would be very grateful.

Cheers

Vittellus

SD220E only has the one scart socket. Although they have the Cyberhome 528 for £69 (excellent player, built in DD decoder, multiregion w/ remote hack) but it only has the 1 scart. Check out Argos though, they sell a 3 in 1 scart output connector for £9.99 that works great (auto AV select, full RGB) I use it with my PS2/Xbox/DVD player and it`s fine.
