Page 1 of Technics SA-DX940S advice please

Hi all

Afraid I`m totally new to this home cinema business. Can anyone offer an opinion on the Technics SA-DX940S home cinema receiver and speakers set? Dixons stock it for £499. Part of the appeal is that its silver, (girlfriend insists everything under the TV matches!), but obviously if it sounds like tosh I`m not going to be interested. It will be used with the LG3350 DVD player, if that makes any difference.

Any advice or stories from experience appreciated, or any recommended alternative buys - preferably with receiver and in silver ;-)
