Help - how to backup my dvds....

pablo21 (Harmless) posted this on Sunday, 23rd February 2003, 06:43

I have just bought a mirror dvd -R recorder with VOB software.

How do I make backup copys of my discs? (backups so my youngster doesn`t trash the originals !)

I just want the video not the menus.
thanks.

If you`re going to "backup" then you need to "buy" DVD2ONE and download DVD Decrypter. Then it`s just a matter of ripping the original files to your HD (DVDDecrypter will do this automatically( and then run DVD2One and select the soundtrack and subs etc...

Then burn away usinf RecordNow Max or Nero. You may need to watch what media you use, when I started "backing up" I wasted lots of Bulqpak disks that just stuck and skipped at the end of a longish movie.

If you`re not too happy with the output quality of DVD2One then you may want to look at Pinnacle Instant Copy.

Hope that helps.
