Page 1 of NTSC to PAL conversion
Hardware Forum
I recently bought a multi Region Sony DVD PQ-1, which I want to take around with me as I have to travel quite a bit in my job.
However I`ve discovered that it outputs R1 material as NTSC.
can I get a CHEAP converter to convert NTSC to Real PAL ??
It has to be PAL50 as I can`t guarantee what sort of TV`s will be available in various hotels etc
Also, would the same converter work in Germany ??
(I`m going there for a fortnight shortly)
Thanks
RE: NTSC to PAL conversion
you can get pal 60 converters for around £20 unfortunatly pal-50 is different kettle of fish and gets very complicated the cheapest converter i`ve seen is £200 a better solution is to go and get dvd player that has the converter built in (ie the dansai range from tesco-from £85) many other players also give this function but the dansai is the best one that i have used (tried a few of the pacific range from asda fine in ntsc but very jerky in pal) hope this helps
If you were to get a pal 60 converter does this mean that you would be able to record ntsc to pal 60 and it would be fine and not black and white
RE: NTSC to PAL conversion
it would make it colour to watch but if you tried to record to vhs it would`nt work as english vhs recorders need pal 50
