DVD Playback Fault?

DJ Denon (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Monday, 8th January 2001, 13:48

I have noticed a serious problem with the Wharfedale 750s, Zoran Vaddis 3, 2nd Gen, when a Bright White Explotion or Flash occurs during a scene of a movie. (.R1. The Patriot - Mel Gibson, .R1. Independance Day SE and .R2. Lock Stock the TV Series @ the End of episode 7, Tested so far)

When an explotion or flash happens the Wharfedale will make the picture breifly roll as the explotion moves from Orange Flame to a Bright White Flash. At Flash point the playback flicks off for a moment and then flicks back to normal when the explotion or flash peak has finished.

It seems to do the same while playing back the R1 Matrix, but it`s not as bad even though the Matrix has lots of Flashes in it.

Has any one else seen this during playback of other DVD`s?

You get the same effect when fitting video heads and have set the chrominance to high [think spelt correctly].So it might be dvd or tv.
