Page 1 of Schneider 857, 5.1 settings (rear speakers not working), New info on the Pacific 1002

After deciding to hold fire (for now) on replacing my 857, it has come to my attention that my rear and centre speakers when connected through my sony amp are not working. I`ve double checked all my connections, and even swapped around the wiring which then allows my rear speakers to work but silences my front ones. (Centre still silent).

Does anyone know of any special settings that are not mentioned in the hand book???

I`m really starting to wonder if the 857 cuts the mustard, what with vibrating disks and no rear speakers, i can definatley feel a trip to the shops coming on.

ps Went to asda this morning to play me a DVD+R disk on their Pacific 1002 display model, low and behold they dont play them either "No Disk" shows in the display.

So cheap isnt always the best option, any ideas on what i should buy, that plays all formats????
