MICO SUGGESTIONS????????????????

The Ironduke (Elite) posted this on Friday, 12th January 2001, 19:29

We all know by now that MICO means Multiregion Inferior Crap Offering!

It is obvious is no good for playing DVD`s or any other optical media, I am assembling a report on what those two filthy little porno freaks Carrot & Briley can use there Mico`s for.

1. Door Stop
2. Paper Weight
3. Toaster

Other suggestion would be welcomed by Carrot & Briley

and remember

STAY AWAY FROM THE MICO ITS PANTS:P

How do you like me now BROLLEY!

I dont know why you`re so bitter IronDuke? Could it be:

MiCO = DVD / VCD1.0,1.1,2.0,3.0? / DVCD / SVCD / CVD / CD-DA / CDi-FMV / MP3 (All "Yes All" Bitrates From 22050Hz Upwards!) and up to 999 tracks per Disc / CD / CD-R / CD-RW ...

Oh and it has S-Video Mini Din / RCA RGB Video Out / 21-pin SCART Jack (with RGB signal) / RCA Video Out / RCA Audio Out (Left&Right) Mixed / Dolby Dig 5.1 Channel Decoded Surround Outputs + BUILT-IN AC3 DECODER!!! (Yippee) / Optical Digital Out / Coaxial Digital Out.

Oh and I nearly forgot 7 Band Graphic Equaliser (Standard-Classic-Rock-Jazz-Pop-User Defined) / Surround Sound Effects (None-Stadium-Amphitheatre-Live-Concert-Church-Passive-Wide) / Twin Mic Karaoke With Echo Effects / True Multiregion (No Hack Required) / RCE Exempt / Macrovision Disable / NTSC & PAL Out (With Conversion) / 28 Program DVD Playlist - I could go on and on!

http://members.tripod.co.uk/micoshrine/ CUMMING SOON!

or is your bitterness caused by:

Set the macrovision to 1 on the DVD-A980 model to disable macrovision.
With the later DVD-A980 `S` models, the macrovision logic is reversed. i.e. set it to 0 to disable. One problem you might encounter with the later `S` type is that it likes to revert to macrovision enabled each time you go into standby. (So I hear)
This will only be of annoyance to you if you watch via a VCR or intend to do a great deal of pirating!

The OP PROH is there to enable you skip the FBI warnings

Region can be selected for auto-region (13) or any specific region for RCE discs.

Reliability?: Most people I know of get lucky the second time around.
I did :) Check it`ll read CDRW`s. Thats the most common problem found.

Do you speak from experience?

RE: MICO SUGGESTIONS????????????????

Carrot Cruncher (Competent) posted this on Saturday, 13th January 2001, 22:40

The only locking up I`ve experienced (Briley as well) is when you try to play a DVD after playing an MP3 disc.
This doesnt affect my enjoyment in the least as a simple press of the standby button remedies this.
Grain? Minor!

1) If you want to play it all get the MiCO.

2) If you want to play less but with superb picture quality get the Aiwa.

Personally speaking, I think the Aiwa is marginally better. I would go for it had I not already bought the MiCO.
But then again I want to play it all, so will never regret my purchase.

You decide. Don`t let Ironduke push you into anything.

He onced pushed the Yelo 800, worst picture ever and then the Hitachi 505 - Enough said!

DOnt listen to carrot either as he is full`o`s***!

Yes I have had a mico!

1.It like to chew my DVD`s.
2.The picture was not as good as a 505.

Isnt it amazing carrot how there was nothing wrong with your player, then it had grain on still images, then it had grain on actual play!
Now it locks up now and then:)

I wonder how many more problems the new mico has BUZZ?

nuff said.

I would and could get Awia easily if there was a macro hack available for it, However I do want a player that plays well and plays everything, someone suggested the Pioneer 535, But im struggling to find any real info on it.
