I don`t know if they`re the cheapest, but I think the service at Richer Sounds is fantastic.
I decided my 880 needed a look at as it had started to misbehave playing back commercially recorded DVDs. No questions asked, and they`ve lent me a replacement while mine goes off to be serviced. Mind you I had (wisely) paid a bit extra for a warranty!
I gather that Philips have now set up a service center in London, so the machines don`t have to go back to Belgium. Estimated 3 week turnaround.

If only you`d asked a week ago. Argos was doing them for £299, but now all the new stock is in. You could phone around but they`ll want to flog you the new £399 one.
