Surround sound help ?

markyb (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Monday, 22nd January 2001, 13:15

Okay, i was settled on ordering a LG3350e from dabs (which may be a mistake in itself), but no i`m not sure.

You see, i downloaded the manual frim IT Trolls site and discovered that it was not what i thought. Now im an audio visual retard and i thought that it had so many speaker outs on the back so you could plug speakers straight in and get surround sound. The manual says i need an amp.

So whats to stop me buying the cheaper Awia version then ?
Could someone explain to me what I need for surround sound please.

hi markyb,
there are all kinds of different amps out there m8 ive got a sherwood amplifier it costs around 200
and i am happy with my sound setup infact its ace m8 then you have to get yourself 2 front speakers ..2 rear speakers ...
1 centre speaker ..and a subwoofer ..but all this adds up too mine all in was about 500.. but honestly in the long run it will bring your dvds home especially on dts cos the sound is stunning .....
