Toshiba SD-330E SD330 (multiregion)
Bought this from Amazon in August. It says Multiregion (although haven`t tried with any R1 disks yet).
It does not play CD-RW or 700MB (80 min) CD-R disks. I primarily bought this for sending the picture to a projector (using the component input) which I haven`t tried yet AND viewing home photo files on CD-R or CD-RW. (I have a Kodak camera LS443) which produces 4MP (1 MB files) and it cannot view these files properly. It displays the correct folders but only about 1% of the photos in those folders.
The product brochure (with the player) says you should not play CD-RW and it can only play 74min (650 MB) CD-R which are not that common now. Most of the technical info on sales websites say that it can play all, which it cannot.
Overall pleased as the picture is good, but poor for the additional features.
Would be interested if anyone knows of a workaround to the CD_RW/CD-R problem :/ .

My Multi-Region SD330 plays everything. I have tested CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R and it plays R1 DVDs a treat.
I think you have a faulty player and should get a replacement.

Chewie, my mate has just got the Tosh` SD 230 (part of a package) is the region hack the same as the 330. If so how do you do it.

There is no hack. My player came chipped and was Multi-Region out of the box. The only way to make it multi-region will be to get it chipped.

Am I doing something wrong then?
I have copied normal JPEG files from my PC, to a CD-R and a CD-RW but haven`t done anything else to the disk (ie it`s not specifically a photo disk) .. and there is definitely problem. Does the same on my parent`s Toshiba too (different model - with Video) :/

Have you put your pics onto standard 650mb cd`s as stated in instruction?
If you are trying to use 700mb extended Cd`s (which your post implies)- & the player is only designed to take standard 650 mg disks then it may not be able to read the table of contents properly
stick to the instructions and you`ll be fine
