Q for anyone in the TV retail trade

I have been looking for a Philips TV that I have subsequently found has been discontinued. This made me made me wonder:

a: What generally happens to the remaining stocks ?
b: What happens to the display models ?

OK! Stupidly worded question.

What I meant was what sort of discounts do retailers usually apply.

Not very much in this day and age, and usually an absolute maximum of 10% (although this is usually for damaged/incomplete etc.)

The manufacturers tend to drop the price low enough for the Retailer to move them before high discounts are required.
