Page 1 of DMR E50 `Direct TV`

:/ I have just got my DMR E50 and have found that whilst recording using `Direct TV` if you then press PLAY the recording made up to that point will play but will then stop and continually loop. The programme continues to record however - Is this normal? If I simply press record the play whilst recording function works fine

Well, I can`t answer your query, But I would love to know if you think this machine is any good, as I am thinking of getting one. Did you find a way of making it region free? if so - how?

:) If you buy this machine you will not be disappointed I have yet to read a bad review and there is some great information on the forums here if you put out a search under DMR E50. I personally went for the Region 2 machine as it suits my needs and I was concerned about a chipped modification invalidating the warranty however I am sure that you can rent a remote which can do a non intrusive mod and will therefore I presume leave the warranty intact. Hope this helps!

You can buy these already made Multiregion for no more money than R2 only.
Umpteen places sell them MR modded.
I,personally,went for R2 only just in case I had problems, but then MR is not important to me.
Someone on here said Panasonic can be `funny` about modded stuff.

these machines are not chipped there is a cd firmware that updates to make mutiregion so there are no problems regarding under warranty repairs etc spoke to a guy @ panasonic before i bought my 2 units

Can you tell me whether you got the cd firmware and where you got it from. Spoken to Panasonic today to be told that there is no such thing available.
