question, what could be wrong with my video recorder. On most videos(new or old) the picture has a band of interferance in the bottom third of the screen. Cleaned it yesterday with no effect, and adjusting tracking has no effect...so is it on its way out? or can it be fixed? Its a Sanyo and about 5 years old which I suppose is good.
many thanks.

RE: video recorder playback question
Check to see if the tapes are being creased by the machine. It might be wear and tear on the tape transport mechanism rather than a head fault, but either way it`ll be cheaper to bin the machine and buy a new one. Sorry.

It can be fixed, but the cost of repair it just ain`t worth it.
I went in Argos a couple of weeks ago and picked up a Sanyo Nicam 4 head basic machine for £45.00 it was in a sale in the Leicester store, I could have got a Sharp basic mono job for £35.00, they sold out quick though.
I remember the days when they were £399 for basic 8 channel mono model. :)
