Budget DVD player - recommendations please

zoper1 (Harmless) posted this on Monday, 1st December 2003, 13:15

Hi...

Could anyone recommend a budget player that is multi-region and can be hacked
for macrovision to be disabled. Suggestions would be very welcome....

Thanks - Golden

Try the Pacific 1002w from ASDA for £42. See other reviews for this already on this site.

The macrovision hach for the Pacific 1002w (open, clear 45610, close) DOESN`T work as I`ve discovered to my cost. So I`ve got a perfectly ordinary machine which will play region 1 discs like dozens of others. LOOK BEFORE YOU LEAP!!!

Stop Press!! The macro hack can be made to work but not when the player is set for multiregion. So for region 2 discs first set the player to region 2 (open, clear 1369 2, close) then apply the macro hack (open, clear, 45610,close) and bingo no macrvision!
