Comet have the Bush WS7671 322 widescreen TV on offer for £400. Anyone have an opinion on this TV? Any problems with it? Is it worth waiting and saving for something else (given that 32" usually start from about £600)? Sound not too important - have separate AV amp...

Someone on this web site posted a letter about the picture settings are a bit confusing.

zoom/and which setting for dvd playback?

I have the comet 28inch goodmans which iam happy with and full manual setting of the zoom and the other options. It could have had a easier way to do the job and the manuals hopeless.

I would have a demo before buying if i was you

If i was you, I would save up the extra for a good brand name..
Or go to a shop and look and listen at the quality of picture and sound from a decent set and then compare it to the Bush/Alba you are thinking of buying. There really is no contest and also if your better brand goes wrong it will also be worth fixing in the future.
I work on tv`s and trust me the quality of what is inside the cheap buys is terrible, badly burned and overheated after only a years running.
I am surprized some of these bucket jobs even last a year to be honest.
Like the saying goes you get what you pay for...

My folks bought the 28" Bush widescreen almost two years ago and it works fine. Picture is as good as any screen at twice the price. Excellent value for money for the non-brand snobs. I really wish I had auditoned the Bush before forking out over a grand for my Sharp 32".

Note: Most tubes are made by a handful of generic Taiwanese / Korean manufacturers.
