which leads do i use on dolby digital amp?
ive just got a dolby digital amp but which connectors do i get the best sound from optical fibre optic or phono leads from cente l/r surr from my dvd player to my amp ive allready tried it using a single optical lead and it sounds good but is this the best way or not any advice please.?

It comes down to personal preference really. I like the optical lead best, as long as it is of a fairly good quality, I think the sound is slightly sharper which suites my system. Try a digital coaxial lead though, borrow one if you can, it might sound better for your particular setup. The bottom line is people can`t tell you what sounds best you have to decide for yourself, as everyone’s perception of sound can be different. Hope this helps a bit?
Cheers,

Hiya
You said you had `Centre l/r surr` outputs from the amp - was that 1 `surr` output or two? If you`ve only got 1, then it will only output pro-logic sound (1 surround channel), whereas the digital lead should support a true 5.1 signal - i.e. left and right surround channels. If that`s the case, the digital lead should sound a lot better.
