Page 1 of hardware upgrade sony or toshiba?

I am considering upgrading from a samsung 709 because of problems with software branching and am looking at either the sony dvps535 or the toshiba sd200e, as both are dd 5.1. the sony claims dts bitstream output (?) but the tosh is software upgradable. any suggestions?

Hi there idont know too much about the sony ive read its a good player but i can tell you the tosh 200e is a superb player fantastic picture and sound qaulity and almost all features and connections you could wish for mine is multi region i am delighted with it !!!!!!

DVD recorders will be out soon

as I`ve not got deep enough pockets to buy a recorder have decided to but the tosh 200e, thanks for the input though :-} t.t.f.n.

now that i`ve got the tosh 200e I must admit that you where 100% right. the picture is superb and the sound is out of this world. only nag was having to work out the speaker settings.
