Hi, im thinking of buying the Scan SC-2000 DVD player. Anyone who knows this player, what do you think of it? Have you encountered any problems with DVD`s or the drive itself?

I have heard of a `lip sinc` problem on some DVD`s is this true?

I would like to apologise on behalf of everyone who makes this forum so valuable, for the previous post. You must wonder what in God`s name would prompt someone to reply with such a post.

Anyway. Yes, the Scan is excellent. There were problems with some of the earlier players but it is a well sorted fully featured player.

I`m very pleased with my scan player. I bought it in November and it performs well. You get a lot of features for the money.

Like all budget players there are minor niggles most of which have been sorted out by firmware upgrades. There were problems with some Disney discs but the latest firmware seems to have fixed this. There can still be lip sync problems as you mention though. They occasionally occur after pausing and restarting a dvd a lot. It`s easily cured by pressing stop and then play.

Also I don`t like the remote control. The buttons aren`t set out very well and it`s impossible to select the correct button if you`re viewing a dvd in the dark.

Scan (the company) can be a bit slow if things go wrong too.

1) The Scan is a fine player.
2) yes the scan can play RCE discs, But you need to set it to region 1 to play them and not multi region.

The lip sinc problem on some DVD`s? Well i cant say i have ever come across this my self. this could be because, I dont own the problem discs, because my player is set to ouput Region 1 discs in NTSC or the latest firmware has corrected this problem.
