i would like to no if any one had any hints/tips for this dvd recorder where is the best place to get ram/-r discs from.Do sky/ntl use pdc or video+ i was surprised to hear the philips were so bad, dose the bbc itv ect use pdc the only thing i do`nt like about my e50 is i can not record stuff on -rw we do not have any other dvd players that play dvd ram other than that it seems a good machine :) ;)

Great machine
I use Panasonic`s own RAM and -R discs.
They aren`t that expensive,and easy to get hold of from the local Panny shop.
As for recording,I have it connected so that I can use the `direct-link` function.
Go to your SKY menu,choose a programme,press `autoview` on the SKY guide,then press `direct-link` on the front of the E50 (not the remote)
It does it all for you !

It`s a shame the direct-link function does not work if you choose to use the RGB in/out facility on the E50,but then the non-RGB recordings are of such good quality it`s not really a problem given the benefits of the direct-link button.
