SC-2000 Firmware / Hardware Survey
As you may be aware new users are experiencing problems when downgrading theoir machines to earlier versions of firmware (eg. 1.80).
The advice given is NOT TO DOWNGRADE LOWER THAN THE VERSION OF FIRMWARE SHIPPED WITH YOUR MACHINE.
This is because old firmware may not be compatible with the EPROM chip present in the latest SC-200 machines.
I am conducting a survey to understand bettter what hardware/software combinations are about.
Please go to the Secret Software Menu Page:
"OPEN - SETUP - STOP - MENU"
and report the following if different from previous threads :
1. HARDWARE CODE (first line on screen)
eg. ADV7172 = Chipset
00000003 = EPROM Model (AMIC 29040 in this case)
2.ORIGINAL SHIPPED FIRMWARE
3. DATE PURCHASE
4. LOWEST FIRMWARE VERSION SUCCESSFULY RE-UPGRADED FROM (do not try lower versions for this survey!)
Cheers,
ScoobyDoo

RE: SC-2000 Firmware / Hardware Survey
Some people are giving the wrong answers to this, the last field was supposed to be the lowest firmware revision downgraded to... so here goes (same as NiVZ incidentally):
ADV 7172 00000003
2.06
Feb 2001
1.80 (2.06 > 1.80 > 1.80 > 2.14 > 2.23)
