NTL Set top box

daveo (Competent) posted this on Monday, 19th March 2001, 13:47

Sorry to raise this question here, I guess it kinda relates to DVD and hardware.

Could someone who has a NTL Digital Set top box please tell me what connectors it uses to link to TV/Video. Is it like the Sky boxes that have two Scart or is it a crappy RF style coax link? Also does it have stereo phono/digital optical/digital coax outputs for use with an amp?

Cheers

I`ll need to check when I get home but I`m pretty sure it has two scarts, one to video and one to TV (so hitting play on the video auto switches from ntl to video playback) and also has additional phono outputs for left and right audio (to go direct to an amp which gets you prologic if broadcast) and composite video. I don`t think it has any digital audio output neither optical nor coax but I`ll check. It also has a crappy RF coax output that is useful for piping it elsewhere around the house.

NTL use Pace set top boxes.
Just go to the pace web site and they have all info on them.
