Page 1 of compacks 101 and svhs cable queerys and mp3 problems

:/ I bought a compacks 101 and was happy with it until it locked the other day and i couldnt get my dvd out . The whole thing stopped. I work for woolies so took it back to where i worked where i got another player and my dvd back. My new player wont recognise the signal from the svhs cable from sky ( where it did on my other player) I also tried to copy vhs tapes and only some work. How do I remove macrovision. I am not bothered too much re multiregion as I have a plu2 player too which is already mr. Also i have tried to play my mp3s on disk but when i press next track it skips about 7 songs each time. Also when i enter play whole folder it only plays one track and then stops what am i doing wrong. My manager has offered my money back if i want it but i am not too sure . I was also considering the liton player/recorder from currys or the yamada from richer sounds but i am confused with all the conficting reviews. I have bought som many turkeys in the past. I would be happy to settle for my compacts if i new why the svhs cable dosent work. One final queery when the tv scans for the chanels and sets them they are all out of order. I can only get the channels in the right order if i manul tune / fine tune the channels which takes ages any ideas what i am doing wrong? please help soon as i am running out on the offer of a refund.
