Page 1 of Backing up to a Tosh V-858B

Has anyone managed to get a good copy from dvd on a Toshiba V-858B or V-859B. I get b&w copies when I try. I`ve checked everything is set to PAL & standard vhs, not s-vhs. I`ve used SCART and phono leads. Its a region 2 disk and Macrovision is disabled.

Any info would be great.
