Aiwa XD - DV170

GDS101 (Harmless) posted this on Sunday, 8th April 2001, 17:23

I`m thinking of buying one of these machines in Hong Kong and all the website info I can find on it claims that it is multi-region: that it plays all 9 region zones.

Is this true? I want to be able to play Hong Kong DVDs and VCDs, but then also be able to play UK DVDs on it when I bring it home. Do I need to get it modified in the shop where I buy it or will it already play UK Region DVDs?

Also, does anyone have any comments on this machine?

This machine is not all-region. I own the Japanese version however. I bought mine in November 2000 when it was relatively new in Japan. Cannot find a hack code or any way around this .. Maybe the one being sold in Hong Kong is a newer version but the one I have only plays R2.
