Tevion S2000 (Home Entertainment System)
Hi all
I bought the recent Aldi offer of the DVD player + 5.1 speaker system (including sub).
However, put it together and whilst the DVD player seems great the speakers are annoying me.
Seems that either the output from the DVD player is too high (in volume) - or the Sub is amplifying the signal too much. When the sub is on and the DVD player is off, there is a noticeable hiss from the other speakers.
When the DVD player is on, and I`m watching a 5.1 soundtracked film - I can`t put the volume past 04 without it being too loud. On a normal surround sound track, the vol level can go up to 07 and be acceptable. The vol level goes to 60 on the player though!!!
Anyone else got one of these? If so, how does it work for you?
Cheers
Miles

Miles cant believe that all the "experts" havent replied but my mate bought one and is having problems in that his sky is blaring out full volume when switched, a rare medion/tevion fault......... :/
RE: Tevion S2000 (Home Entertainment System)
Thanks for the reply Herbie. I think this one`s going back.
I tested it again last night on a few different films and the problem is apparent on all of them so it`s not a case of the volume level on the soundtracks.
Its just something like the gain on the sub is up too high, since it must be amplifying the signal way way too much from the DVD player.
Cheers

Just called their "help" line - if you can call it that!
Got some arrogant git - (when I was being perfectly polite) who firstly got all arsy asking me questions about whether I had plugged in the "red, white & yellow cables" - why the f[at]kc would I do that when there`s a perfectly good scart output! - and then when he let me explain the problem, he tried to tell me to reset the settings which would "sort it out completely" - which I have done 3 times!, and then "just take it back to the shop" was what I got back.
Nice...I suppose if you buy cheap products you can`t expect a decent response when asking for help!
