Q40 REPLACMENT

Wayne 500 (Harmless) posted this on Wednesday, 29th September 2004, 15:49

HI All, new to this so please bear with me, for nearly 3 years i`ve owned a philips q40 that had been modified by multimod (multi region and rce), this gave up on me a short while back but i had taken out extra cover so was insured, it cant be repaired, so they offered me a philips dvp630, that i declined as not simler to my old one, then they offerd me a pioneer dv575as, this seems better but still not multi region (i have a lot of r1 discs), can this be made multi region? and how would i go on with rce? i am disapointed that they wont entertain getting me another one from techtronics (or anywere else that do them), i need my dts and other features, ANY ONE HELP ME?

Richer Sounds do multi-region Pioneers - perhaps you`d be able to get a DV575 from there?

They say (insurance company) that they can only supply from currys, so its what they have in, so i`d need either an hack, or invalidate the warrenty and have a chip fitted.

Careful how far you push then, the only Multi Region DVD player currys advertise is their own Matsui model.

I`d grab the Pioneer if I was you....and maybe buy a £30 job for now to play your R1`s...will do for the bedroom later, no?
