lf3800 (Harmless) posted this on Tuesday, 2nd November 2004, 20:59

I`m wanting a new tv and i fancy a widescreen 28" TV.
My buget is only about £350 and i want a good make and spec of the price.
Also is there any 32" tv`s for that price or are they naff makes and models.

You may sneak a Bush 32" for that price, and I think Asda do a 32" Schneider for that money too.

I had a 28" 4:3 Schneider that was great (and still is, my parents now have it) 3 year guarantee with them too.

That budget will stretch further in the 28" models, especially if buying a `name` is more important to you.

I took my first dip into widescreen earlier this year with a £160 Lodos (No, there is no `hit` after that :D ) from Sainsbury`s and it`s been great. It`s basically the same as an Hitachi 28" but half the money-Two scarts and a handy side AV input too.

It`s filling the gap now until plasmas get into the price range I will buy at!!

LG make very good TVs. I thought all TVs should come with atleast 3 years warranty now?

I`d heard there were only a few tube (CRT) manufacturers left in the world so you may often be paying more for a badge. I have a 32" Wega and the pic is fantastic - however my girlfriend got a 28" widescreen Akura from safeway for £200 and it`s damn good for the money; I`d heard it`s a Phillips tube.

Always a good idea to get it from a place that will let you take it back if you aren`t happy.

I know it`s slightly more that you wanted to pay. But Asda are doing a Sanyo 32" TV for £399. I bought one last week and am very impressed with it. The screen is pretty flat for a cheap end of the market TV (way better than Schneiders goldfish bowl effect screen) and the picture is very sharp.

Before the Sanyo I had a Grunding and before that, a Schneider and this is way better than both of them.

Don`t think of yourself as an ugly person. Think of yourself as a beautiful monkey!
