Page 1 of Noisy DVDR610

Hi all,
I`ve had my 610 for around 4 months and its always been noisy in standby mode for some reason.
I put up with it thinking it was normal for this player until a few day ago when i turned it onto standby and it was silent like anything else in standby mode,i was right chuffed!
Until this morning when i`d finished using it i switched off and guess what it, it was noisy again, the noise is like when its in use but on a quieter scale.
Any ideas?

The noise comes from the fan, which originally continued to run even when in standby. The latest firmware update seems to fix this - but BEWARE as the firmware updates seem to reduce the functionality and I, at least, have had a series of problems since updating. Philips do not document the firmware effects and do not seem to be interested when things go wrong.

just updated to bt 1 21 firmware and my fan has stopped when in stand by,the clock seems stable and everything seems fine,time will tell.
