Can anyone tell me if this player plays DVD-R`s.
Im not so bothered about multi region as I only have region 2 dics anyway.

Yup. It plays everything except dvd ram.

Multi region hack:

1 Open Tray
2 press 81328
3 press enter to scroll through regions (select 9 for multi region)
4 press menu
5 close tray
