has anybody had any experience, good or bad, with the Sony DVP335 or 336 machines? What is the difference, if any, between them?

no bad experience.

i have the 335

if you buy sony you WILL get the quality.

they cant play CDR ... and have to be chipped for Multiregion .. this can be done relatively cheaply but the player will not play RCE encoded disks without a much more expensive mod

They can play some CD-Rs such as the Princo discs
