Are these wireless video senders any good? And would having a metal roof on the house effect the signal?

Never used one of those things myself, but I would have thought that if the receiver is in the same location i.e. same house, as the transmitter, then the signal shouldn`t be affected. Having said that, radio wave propagation is somewhat of a "black art", in other words, the practical doesn`t always bear out the theoretical. It may be a case of "suck it and see" IMHO of course.

I have just installed a GigaAir 2424 £39.99 from Maplins, Sky+ living room to bedroom I can notice a slight quality loss in the picture upstairs. Quite acceptable fot the price, beats running a cable.

Wd423 - have a look at this at that price £28 worth a go. Plus Tesco are usually excellent on their returns policy if it doesn`t work for you.

The one on offer at Lidl now is a good little unit. Three remote sensors that allow control of different devices from the second room, easy connection and set up and reasonably attractive design. Also if you have any VCD/SVCD/MPEG/AVI on your PC you can connect, using the supplied S-Video cable, the TV card (video out if fitted) to the sender and watch these formats on the living room TV.
I have only noticed a very slight drop in picture quality, more to do with me phannying around with the position of the units etc rather than the quality of the unit. I would recommend this wee set. The added bonuses of a three year warranty and a price of £25 makes it even more attractive.

Give them a try and I reckon you will be pleased with them.
