Page 1 of Liteon LVW5005 playback problem

Like many others, got this recorder at argos, but I`m finding that when playing back DVD-R`s (mostly ritek GO4 GO5), I get random `stutters`...does anyone else have a problem with this. So far I have done no `region hacks` or firmware upgrades.

I too am having a few problems with the LVW5005, including the stutters, (Which i think is caused by the media used) but my primary complaint is the recording in 4:3 aspect ratio & DVD+VR which my PC & JVC player won`t detect, so I taking mine back

I had random "stutters" on mine too until I used media from the recommended list, if you use the recommended DVD`s you`ll have no problems. The DVD+RW which is supplied with the LVW5005 is of Sony manufacture, I looked up the number printed on the lead-in ring to confirm this. It may even be Ricoh as these are from the same manufacturer. I have found that Imation DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD+RW work fine, also Verbatim DVD-RW work great (although these are NOT in the recommended list!) It`s simply a case of choosing the right media. If you have trouble locating the recommended discs have a look on ebay, that`s where I get mine. All the best!

Do a google search on upgraded firmware for your Lite On`s...Not only do these tend to add more functions, they also eradicate `bugs` like this too.
