matsui dvdr 100 connection

pete tomkinson (Harmless) posted this on Tuesday, 11th January 2005, 16:00

I am having trouble connecting this dvdr. I have now had replaced, my ntl analogue cable box with a Samsung smt-2100c digital one, hoping this would help but it doesn`t! what is the best way to connect it up? I can`t watch one channel while recording another, and if I put dvd on standby the tv screen goes blank. I have purchased different sorts of cables etc. and have tried them in every position, but no use so far. My tv is an older model Matsui 2107N with a single scart, but with none of those red yellow or white type sockets. Originally I connected the dvd in exactly the same way as my old Matsui vhs but this didn`t work either, why? My next step is either a hammer or I will return it to Currys, and go back to vhs. thanks

Who will tell you there`s nothing wrong with the recorder and there`s nothing they can do.
(Trust me, if you got away with an exchange or a refund, you would have been talking to a doofus when you went in!)

Search the forums, already been about 4 threads on this machine, almost all asking the same thing, and almost all answered by myself and a couple of other Regs.
As a wee taster, search for "pin 19" and watch the problem of the TV going blank disappear when you follow the instructions ;)

BTW, you can only watch one station and record another if your cable box allows receiving two stations at the same time. The Recorder doesn`t have an extra cable tuner in it.
