Page 1 of Bush DVHRS02 - edit updates causing recorder to freeze

Has anyone any ideas on the following?

1) Edit updates on +R and +RW discs are causing the recorder to freeze. This usually happens when using the `Change Index Picture` and `Edit Chapter` functions. The changes can be made but then when the disc tries to update the recorder just freezes (even if just one update has been made). The on screen message says "....please wait, this may take a few minutes..." but 3 hours later the message is still there. The only way to remove the message and make the recorder useable again is switch off at the mains. But obviously the updates are not made.

2) A second problem is that the recorder does not seem to be able to read some unfinalised +R discs. The message just says "No Disc".

Would particularly like to know if anyone else has the same problemsd with this model.

:( Just purchased the DVHRS02 and at my first attempt I got both the problems that are detailed. Still learning, but when I got to Finalize/Make Compatible after copying VHS onto a DVD+R/W even though get message that this disc should already be compatible it will not play on a standard DVD player. I have tried on 3 different players.

Thanks Seajay for referring to these forum links. Both were very useful and confirmed my thoughts that this machine is not fit for purpose. After three exchanges this year, today I got my money back.

I exchanged the unfit for purpose Bush machine with a LG RC68227. All seemed apparently fine (records, edits and plays back fine) except recordings on DVD+R cannot be played back on OTHER DVD players. The discs have been finalised on the LG. When loaded into the player, the menu shows the available titles but will not play them.

Anyone any ideas or come across this problem?
