New MP3 Player from Sony NW-HD5

Lou_75 (Harmless) posted this on Saturday, 9th April 2005, 10:03

Has anyone seen the latest MP3 player from Sony, the NW-HD5 yet?

Apparently it`s the smallest 20gb player on the market. The battery life beats the pants off the iPod with 30 hours playing time from a full charge and being easily removable you can buy replacements on the high street. It has this funky LCD display that rotates depending on how you hold the player and a well cool aluminium body that comes in red, silver or black. It`s also cheaper than the 20gb iPod too.

There`s a decent review of it here and pictures here if you haven`t seen it before.

I think the iPod`s got some upgrading to do.

Sony have finaly decided to ditch the ATRAC only format, this one is fully compatible with mp3s, no compression needed

hmmm I like it a lot, it looks tiny and weighs next to nothing. Also looks quite classy really, maybe Sony have finally found their winning formula, I agree ditching ATRAC was a step in the right direction.

What about Sonicstage though, has that improved as well? I wonder what it`s functionality is like, playlist wise, downloading etc?
