TV Audio (BBC1) coming through on DVD Channel
I have a problem with my Matsui DVD110 (or perhaps with my TV!) whereby, when I`m watching a DVD I can hear a TV channel in the background (always seems to be BBC1). Usually this is at the `whispering` level and only really noticeable when the DVD soundtrack is silent or v quiet. However, certain DVDs have to be turned up so loud (eg Crouching Tiger) that the noise becomes really intrusive.
Player is connected into it`s own SCART socket on TV, other SCART socket shared by VHS Video and OnDigital Box.
Have tried turning Video and OnDigital off - no diff. Changed SCART lead - no diff. Also disconnected aerial lead, get white noise instead.
Best setup so far, disconnect everything from TV except DVD through Audio & Video connectors at front - still get (lowish level of) white noise but easier to ignore.
Any suggestions?

Unplug the aerial going to your tv!

If you re-read my posting, you`ll see that I`ve tried unplugging everything from my TV except the DVD. Just get white noise interference rather than hearing every line of dialogue from `Only Fools and Horses` or whatever!
Thanks for trying though.

It sounds like your tv is allowing RF audio to bleed through whilst A/V inputs are selected. I would suspect a faulty tv.

do you still get noise if everything is disconnected from tv and AV is selected? if so it`s your telly

Hey all,
I had the same problem with mine. When the RF cable was in I would get the sound, and part of the picture through from the BBC. When i unpugged the RF cable the picture quality went down.
I know you have tried changing the SCART but try again with a better quality one. Try something like the JVC one from Dixons or even better a proper Cinema Quality one. You can always take it back if it doesn`t work. If you have a cheap TV like mine then this may help the problem.
Anyway it`s worth a shot!

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions - I know someone with a mega expensive SCART lead (£40!!) so I`ll borrow that to try and if it works I`ll look for a slightly cheaper one!
If that doesn`t work, it`ll provide the perfect excuse to invest in a Widescreen telly.
Thanks again.
