Page 1 of 3x optical zoom Versus 6x optical zoom

I am about to upgrade my digital camera and was about to get a Cannon 5mil pixel with 3x optical zoom
But now a Fuji with 4 mill pixel and 6x optical zoom has caught my eye
What do you think?

It`s not just the megapixels & zoom you need to look at.

Think about things like start up time, lens quality, battery life, size/weight etc
