does anyone know whats wrong with my matsui lcdvd-100

mima44 (Harmless) posted this on Thursday, 18th August 2005, 19:38

Hi Ive got a matsui lcdvd-100 mobile dvd player and im have a few problems with it, wondered if anyone could help

when inserting a disc, it will register as no disc instead of playing. This happens quite a few times until it eventually catches.
Also sometimes it "stutters"(couldnt think of any other way to describe it!) whilst playing a film. We have used a disc cleaner but its still the same

Any suggestions?

A lot of 3rd party brand dvd players and stereos sometimes do the "no disc" thing, so that is not to worry about in the long run, But the "Stuttering" is probably because the player has had a bit of impact like moving it constantly from house to house causing the laser to jolt about (my PS2 had a similar problem) or a faulty laser from the beginning.

It has been moved about quite a bit actually. Will it settle down after a while or is this goodnight dvd player?

I`m not sure really. If it doesn`t, get a professional to have a look at it and see if you have a dodgy laser or something. If your brand of DVD player cannot be fixed (I am not sure about matsui, i know Goodmans don`t repair their dogturd products) i suggest you get a new player. I can recommend a DVD player if you state your budget so i can recommend one within your price range.

GOOD LUCK!
