Page 1 of Ghosting Problem DMRES10
Hardware Forum
hi have had a DMRES10 now for a couple of weeks and I seem to be getting ghosting on AV2 which I have the sky digibox connected to, it is not noticeable all the time but is more pronounced if the picture has text on it like the titles which you can see scroll across the screen, I haven`t really noticed it when I have the terrestrial channels showing on the DVR. I have the cable set up like TV Av1 > DVR AV1, Sky AV(TV) > TV AV2. and Sky Av(video) > DVR AV2, is this correct and if anyone can help it would be appreciated, sorry if i haven`t explained clearly
Its probably because AV-2 on your TV does not support RGB whereas AV-1 does. Try connecting your Sky Digibox to AV-1 and see if the problem disappears and if it does then that is your answer!

The two SCART outputs on your Sky Digibox support RGB (or should). I assume you are using one SCART ouput to connect directly to your TV and the other to connect directly to your DVD recorder?
The second SCART socket on your Sky Digibox can be used as a `loop-trough`, which means you can connect your DVD recorder`s SCART output to the digibox`s second SCART socket and view both Sky and DVD in RGB format.
If you connect your system using this method, when you turn on your DVD recorder and press `menu` or `play`, or simply insert a DVD, the digibox will (or should) automatically output the signal from the DVD player to the TV in RGB format.
However, using this method of connection would create a problem when recording.
If you want RGB picture quality without the hassle of having to keep disconnecting and connecting SCART leads, I would recommened you buy a SCART switch box that supports RGB. It should solve all of your problems. Check out this AV Control Centre, it might be of some use to you.
