Speaker Stands

fabes (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Saturday, 4th August 2001, 20:02

Just got a VS10 system with the surround package.

Mention is made of "optional SPS-AV1" stands for rear speakers. I know I don`t really need them, but would suit the room etc

Does anybody know where I can get hold of these (google etc not bringing anything up), or what other stands are around for relatively small rear speakers.

Advice appreciated

Argos have got some for £30 AVC make. Seem quite good as \i have been looking for some stands myself. They also have some wall brackets but `wor lass` wouldn`t entertain them.

Speaker stands are funny things - get them wrong and the sound gets worse (muddied). Get them right and the sound gets better (tighter and cleaner). Often the (manufacturer`s own) recommended stands are not the best you can get. If I needed stands (and I was looking at stand mounted speakers a month or so back), I`d go for Atacama at the budget, high quality (and good looking) end of the market. Try hifijunkies.co.uk or hifibitz.co.uk.
