matsui dvd recorder - problems

DJPARTYBOY (Competent) posted this on Friday, 28th October 2005, 12:31

Hi,
I purchased a matsui dvd recorder earlier in the year and I have twice returned it because of a fault, now this same fault has occured again so I feel as if it is not up to the job I purchased this for and feel I am entitled to a full refund. But when I returned it to the shop I was told I can not have a refund cos the 28 days are up. But surely as the machine keeps getting the same fault then I am entitled to a refund.
Any suggestions please.

Steve

if you still have the receipt for it then you are still covered by the manufacture`s warrenty
which is normally 1 year so you should get a replacement, repair or your money back

the memory of you blooms like a flower in the garden of my heart

There are 2 faults.
1 is that within a week of setting the clock it is about 10 mins fast and gradually gets faster and faster, which isn`t major but is very frustrating if you have to keep re-setting it.
The other is that if there is no disc in the tray it wont open, and you have to keep trying, sometimes for up to 10 mins until it does open.

Steve.

Third party dvd players/recorders Like Goodmans, Matsui, Mustek and Bush often have that sort of problem (my school had a Goodmans cd player with a very reluctant disc tray) and most of them are pretty unresponsive from my experience (pressing play at least 10-20 times before it works). you just need to know what brands are reliable, Sony, Panasonic, Toshiba and Pioneer are good brands. The clock problem is something i have never come accross before.

I hope this was helpful and if you consider a new player/recorder, i can recommend one within your budget :)
