My Pace Sky+ box has USB slots, i was wonderiing what are these for exactly?

Sky plans to enable USB ports for use with Thomson Lyra portable video player (40gig HDD) and similar items so you can watch recorded programmes on the go.

They may enable other approved "video jukeboxes" as well, via some form of software upgrade - possibly sent over the air.

Content will be rights protected so no chance of recording to PC anytime soon.

Software upgrade may soon allow sky+ viewers to record programmes without ads.
