Does NTL have an equivalent to Sky+? Anything in the pipleline?

sashenden (Elite) posted this on Thursday, 17th November 2005, 19:39

Looking to move when my present tenancy comes to an end in January and will probably move into a flat down the road. The only problem is it means I wont be allowed to have a sky dish put up and everyone has NTL. I really like my Sky+ system and it will be a shame to lose it, so do NTL have an equivalent? Or anything on the horizon that I can sign up for?

Looks like they have something ready (some details , but no dates here).
I`ve spoken about this to my mate who is an engineer at the local NTL `head ends` (the places from where they get the Sat signal in and distribute all the TV channels) and he is of the opinion that the changes needed to the distribution system would be so massive that it would be inadvisable to"hold your breath" :D
But , his opinion could be wrong ;) , so keep watching ...... you never know :¦
:D ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) :¦

Hi This is my first post so be nice .... :)

I have worked for telewest for 18 months and we are piloting a sky+ like box and so far it is working fine ..... so i anticipate it will be rolled out to the general public in qtr 2 2006 ....

I know you asked about NTL however bear in mind now that these 2 companies have now merged and are 1 company ..... therefore we are sure to share technology...

Best of Luck
