pioneer DVR 433 H & Compatible DVD-R Disc
I recently bought a Pioneer DVD 433 H Recorder. The machine seems okay but I have one problem. I`m able to record my home video`s from the hard drive onto a JVC -RW 1-2x disc but when I try to record to a -R disc I get the message `please insert a recordable disc`. The -R disc that the machine would not recognise was a memorex 1x-8x. Does anybody know if these discs are compatible with the Pioneer and if not what would work.

My Pioneer works fine with Memorex discs.
You can occasionally get a dodgy disc.
I have a spindle of 50 TDK and the first one off the top was faulty.
Try another disc.
If it persists with other discs, take the machine back for a new one

Thanks for offering you help. I`m a little confused as to why the 433h won`t record onto my -R but will record to -RW. Maybe I`ll try a different make -R to Memorex.

You may find this is the beginning of problems.-R recording normally packs up before -RW.
Try some different brand discs as soon as you can
